The MBMDA, formerly known as the Mississippi Building Material Dealers Association, was founded in April 1924 to serve the independent building material dealers and associated companies. The organization was, and is, dedicated to representing these dealers and by virtue of our numbers, to bring strong savings and benefits to our membership in a number of ways.
In 2002 the leadership, in expanding the MBMDA to include dealers in the southern region of the country, renamed the association to Mid South Building Material Dealers Association. It is felt that this new name more accurately reflects the goals and membership of the group.
We are governed by a Board of Directors and Executive Committee . The Executive Director, who conducts the day to day affairs of the organization, reports to and serves at the leisure of the Executive Committee. Other committees functioning regularly include the Finance Committee, the Insurance Committee, Convention Committee, National Committee and the Legislative Committee.
Our annual membership meeting is held the first weekend in February, the most current one was in Biloxi, Mississippi, at the Imperial Palace. Our show and meetings are held on a rotating order of Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi and provide great opportunities for our members for successful business relationships and great entertainment, along with "show only" pricing.
We sincerely invite you to consider membership in the MBMDA, and as a member, to avail yourself and your firm of the many benefits offered to you. Our pledge to you is that the cost of your dues will be significantly less than the benefits your investment will bring. Further, if you join the MBMDA for one year and at the end of that time you feel that membership is not a real value to you, we will gladly refund one-half the annual dues you paid.
